Chemical resistance of the
       silicone covering of the InduProof keyboards

The silicone covering of the InduProof keyboards and mice is resistant against the following chemicals:
- Solutions (acetone, alcohol, spirits)
- Bases (ammonia, potassium carbonate, soda)
- Acids (acetic acid 5%, nitric acid 10%, hydrochloric acid 10%, phosphoric acid 10%, sulphuric acid 20%)
- Foods (beer, wine, liqueur, coffee, cola syrup, vinegar, mineral water)
- In case of other substances please contact us.

Cleaning:
The keyboard can be washed with lukewarm water by using a normal household detergent, or disinfected with an acetone or alcohol solution. A soft cloth or sponge should be used. Please do not use scratching or scrubbing items such as brushes, scrapers or the like. Please do not clean with high-pressure cleaners.

The InduProof has been designed with a stable aluminium ground-plate and features a completely sealed silicon housing.
The 105 short-travel keys have an excellent tactile feel and can be easily operated with a gloved hand.

The keyboard innovation of the year 2002
Under the name InduProof the German keyboard specialist InduKey provides a new IP68 keyboard, which one is suitable for all demands in industry, shipbuilding, production and medicine. The keys are particularly formed. You feel them optimally also with gloves.
The integrated industrial mouse is a special feature of this keyboard. It is easy to handle, the harder you push the mouse button, the faster you move the cursor on the screen. The silicone keyboard becomes its stability by an integrated metal bottom plate. With its compact dimensions of 388 x 145 x 38 mm only the keyboard has enough space in almost every keyboard drawer. All standard interfaces are available. Additional to the standard US and German layout other language versions are available on request.
At the moment InduProof is the unique IP68 keyboard with integrated mouse device on the market. Under the abrasion resistant printed keys and the special coated silicone keypad are discrete short travel keys. These high-quality Omron-switches give the keyboard the excellent tactile feeling.

These keyboards use OMRON B3F short-travel mechanical keyswitch      hmsk
with a double protective cover (a metal shield and a polyurethane membrane).
The protective cover (IP65) is made of high quality textured polyester film,
resistant to alcohol, diluted acids, diluted alkalis, esters, hydrocarbons, ketones and household cleaning agents.

The keys have a profiled edge. In contrast to foil type membrane keyboards, this solution provides good tactile

The A-KBIM2 is a industrial keyboard for rugged conditions.
The A-KBIM2 provides a full QWERTY keyboard with an integral joystick. It is designed for industrial environments and is fully sealed.
The joystick uses a patented opto-strain-gauge technology providing both an ergonomic and very durable pointing device.
The joystick also incorporates a ‘click in the stick’, further enhancing its ergonomics.
The joystick can be held between the fingers or used as a finger/thumb pad.
The keys are hard wearing membrane type with tactile feedback.
Construction is die-cast aluminium, powder-coated and painted (standard) or stainless steel (optional).
The joystick emulates a Microsoft® Mouse. It connects to a serial or PS/2 port.

A-KB3 Military Keyboard

A-KB3 is a field proven rugged keyboard and pointing device certified to military standards.
The A-KB3 draws upon extensive experience in the industrial and military arenas to provide a unit with certifications including Military Standards 810E and 461D.

Mounted in a stainless steel enclosure, the keyboard component is a small footprint design with full 101 key functionality.
Night use is possible by utilising the inbuilt backlight controls.
Cursor control is via a proprietary pointing mechanism.

Intrinsically Safe - IS

“Intrinsically Safe” devices have been specifically developed for use in hazardous areas where an explosive mixture of air and gas or vapor is or may be present.

“Intrinsically Safe” devices are incapable of causing an explosion in the surrounding explosive atmosphere.
This generally involves adding protective components in series with energy storage devices.
The purpose of the protective components is to reduce the risk of ignition due to spark or increased surface temperature of components.

These areas typically include mining, petroleum and chemical engineering plants and factories processing and storing gases, solvents and other flammable substances.

Intrinsic safety (IS) barriers are a core component of an intrinsically safe solution.
Intrinsic safety barriers are devices that limit current, voltage, & total energy delivered to a sensor or other instrument located in a hazardous area.
Limiting the energy prevents fires & explosions from occurring in areas with hazardous chemicals, gases or other ignitable atmospheres.

Chemical resistance of the
       silicone covering of the InduProof Mice

The silicone covering of the InduProof keyboards and mice is resistant against the following chemicals:
- Solutions (acetone, alcohol, spirits)
- Bases (ammonia, potassium carbonate, soda)
- Acids (acetic acid 5%, nitric acid 10%, hydrochloric acid 10%, phosphoric acid 10%, sulphuric acid 20%)
- Foods (beer, wine, liqueur, coffee, cola syrup, vinegar, mineral water)

Cleaning:
The keyboard can be washed with lukewarm water by using a normal household detergent, or disinfected with an acetone or alcohol solution. A soft cloth or sponge should be used. Please do not use scratching or scrubbing items such as brushes, scrapers or the like. Please do not clean with high-pressure cleaners.
