SCSI-2
Connectors
When the SCSI-2 standard was released, a specific connector
was recommended. To compensate for the standardization, this connector is known
by a great number of names.
It's a smaller connector than most connectors
used up to that point, and has two variants, a 50-pin version (for 8-bit
parallel busses) and a 68-pin version (for 16-bit parallel busses).
Certain
terms are used to describe properties of this connector; these include "High-Density"
(HD) and "Half-Pitch DB" (HPDB), but this refers only to the size and
separation of the pins; it is not the name of the connector.
The connector
is most commonly called a "SCSI-2 Connector" but is also sometimes known
as:
"Mini-Honda" (since many were
made by the Honda Connector corporation)
"Mini D50" or "Mini
D68"
HD50 or HD68 "High-Density"
HPDB50
or HPDB68. "Half-Pitch DB"
The 50 pin connector is about 36 mm wide,
