Time stamping of Readings in ACR Data Loggers
All ACR loggers have an accurate clock, but not a real time clock. Data is time referenced when the data is downloaded, from the time and date of the computer. The PC being used should have it's clock set accurately (automatic via internet with Windows XP).
Time references can be adjusted with the TrendReader software.

Data collected in ACR Data Loggers is downloaded using the USB or serial RS232 port of a computer.

Battery Life: 10-years warrantied (under normal use). Factory replaceable
Memory Sizes: 32 K (21,500 readings). 128 K (87,000 readings). 1.5 MB (1,000,000 readings).
See specific models for availability.   It is not economical to upgrade from the memory size.
Sampling:
   Fast Mode:
25 per second, to every 2 minutes in .1 sec incr.;
   Normal Mode:
every 8 seconds, to every 8 hours
   Delayed start mode.
The SmartReader Plus always samples internally every 8 seconds (or less for faster sampling rates).
When using slower sampling rates, the 8 second internal samples are averaged over the sample period, and logged to memory at the set sampling rate.
This is an advantage in many applications.

Faster logging, up to 25 samples per second
To log at rates faster than once every 8 seconds, SmartReader Plus Data Loggers require a separate 5V power supply.
This can be achieved by using a USB cable to a computer (powered up), or the BP-101 Battery pack, or a 5V power supply.
For fast scanning, see BP-101 Battery Pack option at the end of this section.
BP-101 Battery pack: A male stereo jack and cable plugs directly into the communication port on the logger.
Uses 4 AAA batteries (included) and are user replaceable. Length: 23cm.

SmartReader Plus 10 is a temperature logger with four channels:
an internal thermistor channel and three external channels specifically designed for use with RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector)
temperature probes, designed to precisely measure temperature over a wider temperature range than a thermistor, without sacrificing accuracy or resolution.   Data sheet (.pdf)       SmartReader Plus 10, SRP10 Data (page on ACR Canada site)

Two-, three-, and four-wire RTDs may be used with the SmartReader Plus 10, however, four-wire RTDs produce the highest accuracy. RTDs with a Temperature Coefficient Resistance (TCR) of 0.00385 can be used with this data logger.

Support can be obtained from ACR Systems help desk via email, (there is a big time difference between Canada & Australia)
Version 2 software is not compatible with data files from V1.31c and earlier, and does not support older ACR loggers.

Cables for ACR Data Loggers

A cable is included with the TrendReader TR-WIN-SRP item above.
Cables can be purchased separately if required.
The interface electronics (RS232 or USB) is built into the cable connector.
The cable also includes a decoder & hardware lock (dongle) for the ACR Systems products they are used with.
The 3.5 mm stereo plug connection to the SmartReaders & Nautilus loggers, uses three (3) connections.
The ring, tip & sleeve connections are signal, power, & com/gnd.
The signal connection handles both transmit & receive signals, and to do that, the interface cable electronics ensures only TX or REC signals are on line at any one time.
In addition to that, the IC-102 interface cable is serialised. Each IC-102 has a unique serial number.
This means it can only be used on the PC or laptop to which it was installed.
If used on a another PC or laptop, it must be reinstalled, even if that PC has used another IC-102 previously.
Why all this security? Data is valuable, and ACR Systems assist as much as possible to ensure data collected with their logger range is as secure as possible.

ACRSB-INT  RS232 serial interface cable is used on SmartButton loggers only.

USB-100  USB to Serial converter cable: $68+GST
All ACR loggers that use a serial interface cable can be used in co-ordination with this cable.

All ACR loggers that plug directly into an RS-232 serial port without the need for a special interface cable,
can be used in co-ordination with a USB-100  USB to Serial converter cable.

Nautilus Loggers - Rugged loggers for high temperature unforgiving environments

Nautilus85 can stand up against harsh environments.  Nautilus85 Data
Nautilus135 with high temperature capabilities 135°C, make it the ideal logger for extreme environments.

Monitor high temperatures, where conventional data loggers aren't able to survive.      zwh
Nautilus loggers only use the IC-101 RS232 serial interface cable.
For USB interface, use the USB-100  USB to Serial converter cable: $68+GST

Autoclave Logger

Autoclaves work by allowing steam to enter, then maintaining the pressure at 103 kPa (1.03 bar,15 psi).
This causes the steam to reach 121 °C, and this is maintained for at least 15 minutes.
Modern autoclaves operate at higher temperature and pressures.
Information about Autoclaves (Wikipedia)
Conversion: 1 bar = 100kPa = 14.5psi

Nautilus135 - for Autoclaves

Designed for autoclaves and can also be used in other applications.
Pressure rating:13,800kPa, 13.8 bar, 2000psi

Operating Range: 10°C to 135°C.  Resolution: +/-0.2°C @ 25°C,

ACR SmartButton®   Micro-sized temperature data-logger

The ACR SMARTBUTTON comes with a one-year warranty, has a 10-year battery life, has the ability to record over 2000 data points.
It operates in a temperature range of -10°C to 85°C (+14°F to 185°F).     Accuracy: 0 to 70°C: ±0.5°C
The ACR SMARTBUTTON READER software is packed full of features including user selectable sampling rates, programmable alarm thresholds, graph zooming and start delay.    SmartButton Data: click here

Each logger has its own unique serial number. Files from data loggers will actually reference this number.
When saving a data file, the name of the file will default to the serial number of the logger that it originates from.
As soon as you clear the logger (or save a set-up to the logger) it starts recording.
You can use the "Start Delay" feature of the logger and set the logger to start at a particular date and time.
The logger will continue recording and if the option "Stop when full" is enabled, it will stop recording (when the memory is full).
Otherwise the logger will continue recording and will overwrite the oldest data (when the memory is filled up).

HACCP

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a systematic preventive approach to food safety and pharmaceutical safety that addresses physical, chemical, and biological hazards as a means of prevention rather than finished product inspection.

For details see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HACCP

HACCAP - Home and Community Care Accreditation Process

There is no such thing as HACCAP accreditation or approval for specific equipment.
If applicable, please check the HACCAP manual to see what specifications are appropriate for your application.
