ETM Surfer Range

The Surfer range of data loggers are complete stand alone data loggers with complete communication solutions based on the NUDL and WUDL platform.

Combine these products with the ETM9650 GPRS terminal or Maxon5100 CDMA/1x modem for internet ready data acqusition and real time monitoring including alarms and remote control.

ETM NUDL (Narrow Universal Data Logger)

The Nudl is a product which combines the technology of
data logging,
remote alarm and control, and
basic programmable logic controllers PLC.
The Nudl has the potential to completely change the way a number of tasks/applications are performed and dramatically reduce costs in a number of industries.

The combination of these technologies enables the unit to be much more than a simple data logger.
The Nudl can be remotely configured and controlled, and its data accessed remotely.

Capabilities also include features such as:
variable logging rates,
SMS alarms,
status and control capabilities,
a complete calendar with daylight savings capabilities and much much more.

Some of the potential applications to which the unit may be a applied and the likely benefits of using the device are outlined below:

Automatic meter reading - reduction in meter reading costs
Remote data logging - reduction in data retreival costs and access to alarms and status 24 hours a day
Operation of lighting or other appliances - remote alarms, control and programming functions can reduce site costs - logging of conditions can aid in troubleshooting and ongoing R&D activities

    NUDL Datasheet - full specifications

The Nudl is available as a bare board (with optional expansion board - shown on the right),
while the Slim Nudl (see below), which is based on the basic Nudl board, comes complete in a weatherproof enclosure designed to be able to fit in a 50mm ID bore hole for environmental data logging applications.

The Nudl is available as a bare board for mounting in an enclosure by others. The unit includes features:

• 12 bit accuracy
• 4 analogue inputs
• 1 digital output
• Remote re-programming
• Remote access to data
• SMS alarm and status messaging
• A full calendar with scheduling functions
• Logic functions
• Delay functions and more...

An optional plug in expansion board is available which provides the following features:

• 4 additional analogue inputs
• 2 + 3 digital outputs, 2 are fixed as outputs while the remaining 3 can be either digital outputs or digital inputs
• A GPS input
The software to operate the unit is designed to work with the unit either through a direct connection via an RS232 cable or via a modem connection (click for screenshot).

ETM WUDL (Wide Universal Data Logger)

The Wudl is a revolutionary data logger that effectively combines the capabilities of a
traditional data logger,
a basic PLC,
an SMS alarm transmitter and a
real time clock all built into a single but powerful unit.
This makes it ideal for a multitude of data logging, alarm and control applications.

Information can be downloaded directly to a PC via the RS232 Interface and provides for remote access
using GSM/GPRS/CDMA/1X network wireless technologies for real time reporting or web delivery via the internet.
It incorporates SMS alarms, logic and calendar (with daylight saving) scheduling functions and optional onboard GPS.

ETM SLIM NUDL - Environmental Data Logger

The Slim Nudl is an 8 channel data logger based on the Nudl which is enclosed in a tubular weatherproof enclosure complete with IP67 sensor,
for short term immersion to 3m,
communications connectors and an
integral 10.4V battery pack. The unit is ideal for a multitude of environmental data logging applications including:

Water level logging in bore holes, tanks and streams
Monitoring air, water or other flow rates
Taking ambient, soil or other temperature readings
Measuring soil moisture
Logging events/contact closures such as from tipping bucket rain gauges
Taking pH and electrical conductivity readings and more...

The Slim Nudl includes the inbuilt modem control capabilities of the Nudl making it the ideal solution for remote applications - the cost of regular trips to the field to download data can be overcome with the simple addition of a GSM, GPRS or CDMA modem.

ETM2000 Refrigeration System Analysis Instrument

This product is being replaced with "Climacheck".

The ETM2000 is designed for performance evaluation, troubleshooting, capacity verification, research and development as well as commissioning of mechanical refrigeration systems
including packaged heat pumps, chillers and DX split systems.

The unit measures the various relevant pressures and temperatures of a system to determine operating efficiencies and system variables (such as superheat and sub-cooling) from inbuilt coefficients for various refrigerants.
The unit calculates the systems COP and if electrical power input is also attached then the unit can calculate the capacity.
The benefit of this method is that difficult air or fluid flow measurements are not required.
COP =  Coefficient of Performance, is used to describe the ratio of heat output to electrical energy input

Measurement accuracy:

Temperature ±0.2°C
Pressure ±1%
Electrical Power ±2%
COP ±5%
Cooling/Heating Capacity ±10%
