Connection method for the alarm outputs: the cradle actually has “open collector” type outputs, rather than actual relay switches. The open collector output can be connected to a small relay to provide a dry contact, or it may be able to be wired directly to your security system if it can handle an open collector or DC voltage type of input. It may be necessary to have a small resistor wired in as well, if the security system requires a voltage on/off signal.

The MicroLog cradle has 2 “keyhole” type holes on the back for hooks/screws. These are side by side, spaced 50mm apart.
It also has a small stand that folds out from the back of the cradle near the bottom, so it can sit on a shelf if required.

DataNet Wireless Loggers

The DataNet is a 16-bit data logging system
with 4 inputs for direct measurement and recording of PT-100, thermocouple, voltage, 4-20 mA, frequency and pulse.
Data transmission from units to the central computer utilizes the brand new ZigBee wireless telemetry protocol.

ZigBee wireless protocol uses a 2.4GHz license-free frequency RF Band.
Each DataNet unit also serves as a transmission repeater to neighboring units, forming a reliable mesh network of up to 65,000 units.
   Data sheet on DataNet (.pdf)
Reliable transmission ensuring no data loss
Transmission range that can be constantly expanded by adding additional nodes
Minimal costs thanks to wire-free infrastructure
Portable units facilitating easy deployment in various environments.

MicroLog Plus  Wireless Data Logger
MicroLogPlus

for remote logging of temperature, RH, & external sensors (see above),
up to 300m line of sight,
with alarms: audio via PC speaker, visual indication on PC monitor,
Email message generation (SMS if connected to service)

The MicroLog Plus is an automated, wireless, temperature and RH monitoring, recording & alarm system.

Ideal for sites with multiple measuring points.
Connect up to 200 MicroLog Plus to one single computer.

No wiring required, direct to base radio transmission of Temperature & RH readings to a central computer.

MicroLog Plus system enables wireless communication with up to 200 MicroLog devices at the same time, to automatically deliver realtime temperature and humidity measurements directly to your PC.
Data from external sensors can also be transmitted in the same manner.
There is no need to save data manually as the data is saved automatically every half hour.
Data from each logger is saved in its own separate folder, a new data file for each 24 hours, at midnight..
Save in MicroLab Plus format, and/or CSV (comma separated variables).
The "Trs" button on the logger cradle causes all stored data to be transmitted to the PC.

The complete MicroLog plus system is made up of:
MicroLog data logger mounted in a cradle with radio transmitter, 433.92MHz 10mW for Europe & Australia (see picture above),
a small RF Receiver that is placed next to the PC, with an RS232 or USB cable connecting to the computer, and the
user-friendly software MicroLab Plus that allows for convenient central management.

Alarms

The alarm high/low limit can be set separately for each sensor (i.e. internal temp, external temp, humidity).
The cradle’s alarm output connection gets triggered if any of the sensors goes out of range. This happens for every reading that is taken.

You can also set up a time delay between when the sensor goes out of range and when the alarm is triggered, to avoid triggering the alarm on very brief excursions of humidity, for example. It is a good idea to think carefully about the expected ranges of temperature and humidity, and what can cause them to fluctuate, before setting up the alarm limits, sampling interval and time delay.
For example if the humidity jumps every time someone opens a door but then stabilises again, you might want to set the alarm time delay to 20 minutes so that it does not trigger the alarm every time the door is opened.

Regarding the 2 alarm limits for humidity, there is one “high” alarm and one “low” alarm for humidity.

  Testimonial from Canberra University:
The University of Canberra purchased thirty two (32) MicroLogPlus to monitor the temperature in three (3) cold rooms, eight (8) -80°C temperature freezers, and twenty one ( 21) -30°C, all containing valuable research and reference material.
Initial concerns about the possibility of wireless transmission across four floors and two wings of a steel and concrete slab building proved unfounded.
By careful placement of two repeater units, the MicroLogPlus successfully monitors the temperatures 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We have links the monitoring system to our Duty Officers mobile phone and in the last 12 months have had early warning of two cold room failures. We estimate this has saved us about $25,000 in replacement of damaged reagents and other materials.

How Does It Work?

MicroLog Plus uses the MicroLog data logger to record temperature and humidity. The cradle that the data logger is mounted has a wireless transmitter that can transmit measurements to 300 meters.
Each cradle is tagged with an ID number.
The cradles can be programmed to transmit data at various time intervals based on the criteria defined in their ID.
This advanced feature ensures preventing data collision between two or more cradles.

Automating Industrial Data Logging

The MicroLog Plus receiver picks up all the transmissions and transfers them to the MicroLab Plus software in the PC.
The software reports the status of up to 200 MicroLogs on a single color-coded interface.
Other friendly features that help automate all aspects of industrial data logging include the ability to store the data of each MicroLog, set the MicroLog alarm level, define sampling intervals and any other necessary parameters.

Wireless Datalogger saves time and money

Old type dataloggers that requires manual download via cable to a computer are now being superseded by a new generation of wireless dataloggers. The wireless datalogger sends real-time data by radio frequency (RF) directly to your computer and can even contact you by email or send SMS to your mobile phone when the monitored produce set-limits are breached

The easiest way to manage the temperature and comply with HCCAP and food safety requirement is by using the MicroLogPlus the new generation of license free wireless dataloggers made by Fourier Systems.

Customers demand more mobile and automated solutions. Currently, datalogger users have to physically retrieve the datalogger from the location, bring it to the office, connect the communication cable or docking device and manually download the data for analysis and record storage. This is time consuming and requires technical knowledge. In addition, alarm set points in many cases, were missed and breached information arrives too late to act upon.

The MicroLogPlus system is so flexible the same instrument can be used to monitor temperature and relative humidity of the environment, either in a fixed installation such as produce bins, refrigerated rooms, and greenhouses or as a mobile system in refrigerated containers and trucks.
MicroLogPlus enables wireless communication with up to 200 MicroLog devices at the same time and automatically delivers real-time data from the built-in temperature and humidity sensors and from optional external sensors such as pH, light, temperature, voltage and current, directly to your PC. The automated transmission radius is up to a distance of 300 to 400 meters line-of-site.
The complete MicroLogPlus system is made up of the MicroLog data logger device, the cradle that the MicroLog is mounted on, a small receiver that is placed on the PC, and the user-friendly software that allows for convenient central management.

Wireless communication is the most cost effective solution for monitoring multiple loggers on a single computer, thus eliminating the need to download data from each unit manually, making the MicroLogPlus ideal for the ongoing data logging needs of supermarkets, food transport, storage, air conditioning and ventilation, clean rooms and warehouses.

When the MicroLogPlus system is used in transportation and the routine of the truck is known, the user can set the logger to add the Daily Download feature which sets the logger to transmit all the accumulated data in a specific time of the day when the truck arrives back within reception distance of the receiver. In cases when the truck routine is not known all the data can be transmitted with a press of the button directly from the parking lot to the PC.

The MicroLogPlus receiver picks up all the transmissions and transfers them to the MicroLab software in the PC. The easy to set-up and use software reports the status of up to 200 dataloggers on a single color-coded interface.
Other friendly features that help automate all aspects of industrial data logging include the ability to store the data of each MicroLog, set the MicroLog alarm level, and define sampling intervals and any other necessary parameters.
The room door opening and closure status can be monitored by connection to the optional external contact sensor.
A unique feature is the capability to automatically generate an email message sent to multiple addresses to alert an alarm breach in a particular logger location. The email message can be redirected to the operator's mobile phone via SMS messaging service. Thus keeping you informed of any potential problems in your operation.
Other useful features are the high and low contact relays that can be used to trigger external audio or visual alarms, battery level indicators on software, automatic setting up of tamper proof Excel files for each of the loggers. MicroLogPlus operate either by internal lithium batteries or external AC/DC adaptor.
