The ETM9200 GSM & ETM9200 GPRS uses the GSM/GPRS mobile network for convenient and inexpensive data transfer from remote instruments, meters, computers or control systems.
The current version saves the handshake
settings in memory, so that it powers up in the same
mode as when powered
down. (Earlier models always powered up in XON/XOFF mode).

This
small and lightweight ETM9200 GSM & ETM9200 GPRS modem is capable
of interfacing
with any industrial plant and equipment or commercial assets.
Dual band
GSM modem is capable of t
T ransmits data, short messages (SMS) & fax
messages via the GSM/GPRS mobile network.
The unit communicates via an RS232
interface, 300 to 115200bps
(network capability limits the modem
to 14400bps for GSM, the GPRS unit is capable of 85.6kbps
- check network provider for GPRS limits).
Compatible with the AT-Hayes
commands set
The ETM9200 is ideal for locations where the costs of
providing fixed telephone lines might be prohibitive,
or the application
is mobile such as; data transmission/ control of electrical meters, remote access
and interface with security systems,
remote download of data logging devices,
and SMS based alarm systems.

software tools including a signal strength facility together with prompt technical
support enables designers to realise easy to implement
solutions to complex
problems within a short period of time.
Installation is a simple
4 step process:
1. Connect to the remote device via the RS232 serial link
2. Fit a standard FME antenna
3. Install a data enabled SIM card for GSM units
or GPRS enabled SIM Card for GPRS units
4. Connect the power supply (the unit
accepts a broad range of voltages from 6 to 40VDC,
with a low power consumption of 190mA/12VDC)
