Applications
Point to Multipoint Data Acquisition and Control
The
MSIO/1 is an ideal low cost solution to SCADA requirements. Each input can be
configured as an analog or
digital. Any terminal program can be used to change
parameters. A simple ribbon cable connects the MSIO/1
devices to a RFI series
radio modems, and DC for both units is supplied via the MSIO/1. Standard input
DC is a
nominal +12V, however a built in DC/DC converter enables +24 and +48V
DC supplies to be used.
General PLC Applications
The MSIO/1 provides a
low cost alternative to remote PLC slave units. If a PLC is used at the master
station, the
MSIO/1’s can be used as slaves for a point to multipoint
SCADA system. This system is useful for general
switching, return status indicators
and general-purpose SCADA applications, with or without a PLC Master.
Digital
I/O Analogs and expansion
Digital and Analog I/O in addition to the standard
RS232 serial port, are provided in the RFI MSIO/1. Expansion
options allow
the user to configure large SCADA capability by the addition of extra MSIO/1 modules.
Special
options are available for high scanning speed applications. For more
