The EnviroMon System measures temperatures, humidity, light level
and other parameters over a wide area.

Pico Technology's EnviroMon provides a mechanism for the monitoring and logging of temperature, humidity, light levels and other parameters.
Working on a network principle it can collect data from up to 30 sensors over a wide area.

It carries out the routine task of monitoring and recording, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year even if the mains fails.
It immediately alerts you when there is a problem.
Reports
are easily produced which summarize the occasions on which signal was out of the programmed range and what action was taken.

Constant temperature recording - provides early warning of equipment failure.

  • Easily expandable to 30 channels
  • Stand alone or PC based
  • Covers a large area
  • Remote data logging via a modem or radio link
  • Easy to install - telephone style connectors
The Enviromon data logging system is proving increasingly popular for remote and mobile data logging. This popularity is due to the number of ways data can be sent from the logger back to a PC these include:
+ Direct connection
+ Radio modem
+ Telephone modem
+ GSM mobile phone modem
+ IP Networking / Internet

In addition the EL005 logger, when used with a GSM modem now supports SMS so when an alarm occurs a message can be sent to a pager or mobile phone.

A starter kit can be purchased with either a US, UK or EU power supply.
Included in the kit is a logger, wall bracket, 1 converter, 3 temperature sensors, power supply, PC software and connecting cables.

The EnviroMon system is supplied with EnviroMon for Windows: this is similar to PicoLog for Windows, but is tailored for environmental monitoring usage.

EnviroMon - How does it work?

At the core of the system is the logger, which is able to store up to 15,000 readings at intervals of a minute to an hour.
The logger automatically displays the current reading for each sensor in turn.
The logger can send detailed or summary reports directly to a printer at specified time intervals, or transfer data to a computer for long term storage or graphical analysis. The logger contains batteries so that it can continue recording even if the mains fails.

The Network

The network is a four-wire cable that carries power and data between the logger, converters and optional equipment like remote alarms. The logger can be attached anywhere along the network cable.

For most applications, low cost telephone style cable is used. This allows operation with 400 metres of network cable between the logger and the furthest sensor. With thicker cable, this distance can be increased to a kilometre or more.

Cables can be purchased in standard lengths, alternatively you can make up your own.

Expandability

The system operates using a single network cable up to 400m long, running between the logger and up to 10 converters (3 sensors each).
The network provides power to the converters and collects data from them.
Each three channel converter can be connected to three sensors, in any mix of temperature or other parameters.
There is a range of accessories, for example remote alarms and telephone dialers, which can be connected to the network at any point.
