Without ETS
For a spectrum analyser, the Nyquist criterion states that the sampling rate must be at least twice the maximum frequency that you want to measure,but for a scope you require at least 5 samples to accurately reconstruct a waveform. So bandwidth needs to be 5 times higher than the highest frequency to be observed.

ETS Equivalent–time sampling, (also called repetitive sampling) allows a digital oscilloscope to capture high–frequency signals with a much higher effective sampling rate, ensuring a much less distorted waveform where the sampling rate is near the waveform frequency.
Equivalent–time sampling works by constructing a picture of the input signal by accumulating the samples over many wave cycles.
ETS can only be used to measure signals that are repetitive.   ETS cannot be used for single–shot or non–repetitive signals.

Resolution enhancement is a technique for increasing the effective vertical resolution of the scope at the expense of high–frequency detail.
Selecting resolution enhancement does not change the scope's sampling rate or the amount of data available.  More info: Enhance (opens in new tab)
It is a flat moving–average filter. This acts as a low–pass filter with good step response characteristics and a very slow roll–off from the pass–band to the stop–band. It is available for all Pico USB PC Oscilloscopes using PicoScope 6 software, and adds up to 4 bits to the effective resolution of a scope (i.e. 16 times the vertical resoluion).

Arbitrary waveform and function generator

All units have a built-in function generator with sine, square, triangle, DC level and many more standard waveforms.
As well as level, offset and frequency controls, more advanced options allow you to sweep over a range of frequencies.
Combined with the spectrum peak hold option, this creates a powerful tool for testing amplifier and filter responses.
Waveforms can be created or edited using the built-in AWG editor, imported from oscilloscope traces, or loaded from a spreadsheet.


PicoScope 3425  Differential PC Oscilloscope

Do you need to measure floating or non-ground referenced signals?
Do you need to measure signals in the presence of 50 Hz or 60 Hz common-mode noise?
With the PicoScope 3425 differential oscilloscope you can do so without the need for expensive differential preamplifiers or probes.

Most oscilloscopes can only measure signals referenced to ground and have what are known as "single–ended inputs". The PicoScope 3425 has four fully differential inputs that allow you to measure signals that are not referenced to ground.

With a maximum common mode and differential range of 400 V, the PicoScope 3425 is capable of measuring both high voltage and low level signals. Typical high voltage applications include capturing waveforms from switch mode power supplies, telephone cables, motor inverters and hybrid vehicles. The high impedance differential inputs also allow measurements on sensitive amplifiers and from bridge type sensors for pressure, load and strain.

PicoScope 3000Picoscope 3000 Series

General purpose 8–bit oscilloscopes and mixed–signal oscilloscopes (MSO) that combine fast sampling rates with class–leading deep buffer memories.
All models have a built–in function generator and many have AWGs (Arbitrary waveform generator).

The PicoScope 2105 has a 100 megasample per second real-time sampling rate. For repetitive signals the sampling rate can be increased to 2 gigasamples per second using digital equivalent-time sampling. These high sampling rates combined with a 24,000 sample buffer memory and 25 MHz analogue bandwidth make the PicoScope 2105 suitable for a wide range of trouble-shooting tasks on both analogue and digital circuits.

The 2 channel PicoScope 4224 and the 4 channel PicoScope 4424 are high–resolution oscilloscopes that are suitable for general, scientific and field–service use.
With 12-bit resolution (adjustable up to 16 bits in enhanced resolution mode) and 1% accuracy they also make an excellent choice for noise, vibration and mechanical analysis.

from ±50 mV to ±100 V full–scale (±50 mV to ±20 V for the PicoScope 4224 IEPE)

Full range of probes, clip and leads for automotive use

Pico has just released several new products for automotive testing.
The TA000 test lead has been custom made for automotive use with the ADC-212 oscilloscope.
Its long length (3 meters / approx 10 ft) allows the oscilloscope to be placed on the work bench away from the car being tested / repaired.
Also new is a wide range of probes, clips and gators can be plugged into the 4mm connectors at the end of the cable.
