Power and performance in your hand
Handheld oscilloscopes from Pico have been ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in your hand. Whether you’re left-handed, right-handed, have big or small hands, PicoScope handheld scopes are lightweight and comfortable to use.

The small size of PicoScope handheld oscilloscopes makes them ideal for portable use, while still including the powerful features normally found in larger oscilloscopes.

The PicoScope 2105 has a 100 megasample per second real-time sampling rate. For repetitive signals the sampling rate can be increased to 2 gigasamples per second using digital equivalent-time sampling. These high sampling rates combined with a 24,000 sample buffer memory and 25 MHz analogue bandwidth make the PicoScope 2105 suitable for a wide range of trouble-shooting tasks on both analogue and digital circuits. The entry-level PicoScope 2104 is also available for use in less demanding applications.

Pico ADC-212 & ADC-216

High resolution, 2 ch, large buffer memory (32K). Oscilloscope and Data Logging software included. Ideal for audio testing and analysis. Plugs into parallel port.        dln

The Pico Technology ADC-212 and ADC-216 virtual instruments represent a quantum improvement in digital storage oscilloscope technology: While most digital scopes can only achieve 8 bit resolution, these new virtual instruments are capable of impressive 12 and 16-bit resolutions.

The ADC-212 spectrum analyser has a dynamic range greater than 80 dB , whilst the ADC-216 is more than 100 dB. This makes them particularly well suited to audio testing and analysis. For more information see the application note on audio spectrum analysis.

A buffer size of 32k enables large quantities of accurate data to be collected at high speed. The large memory also permits oversampling which is useful for eliminating aliasing and boosting the resolution when viewing small signals.

Units are supplied with PicoScope and PicoLog, DOS and Windows (3.1, 95/98) versions.

PicoScope Software

Digital Storage Oscilloscope

PicoScope provides all the functionality of a conventional benchtop scope, together with additional functions made possible by the PC connection. Regular scope users will feel at home immediately, all the basic functions such as timebases, voltage ranges and trigger options are easy to access using the button bars. Less frequently used options are accessible through drop down menus. This allows maximum use of the screen area for the display of traces.

A common use for digital storage scopes is in finding intermittent faults in both analog and digital systems. The ability to capture 'one off' events depends on the power and versatility of the trigger system. For example, PicoScope has two special trigger modes to help capture these signals. The first is a display overwrite mode: any differences from the normal waveform will be clearly highlighted even if they occur only once. The second is 'write to disk on trigger': in this mode the scope can be left running for long periods of time (e.g. to find a fault in an alarm system). Each time the trigger event occurs, the waveform will be saved to disk with a date/time stamp.

Spectrum Analyser
A spectrum analyser is one of those tools that once you start using it you don't know how you coped before. For example, if the scope shows noise on a power line, but you do not know where it is coming from, just open up a spectrum. This will show all the frequency components of the noise, showing whether the noise is coming from mains interference, switching power supply or maybe the clock of a microprocessor. Other typical uses are testing amplifiers for bandwidth and distortion.

Digital Multimeter

As with the scope and spectrum, it is possible to have several multimeters on screen: this allows, for example, the frequency, AC voltage and DC offset of a signal all to measured at the same time. Using the 'composite view' option this data can be combined in a single window together with the signal's scope and spectrum traces.

Features

PicoScope Release 5.07
The latest versions of PicoScope, PicoLog and EnviroMon are now available for free download. New features include:
19 new automated parameter measurements, improved spectrum analyser resolution,
more display modes and a neat new drag and drop trigger level option.

PicoLog Data Logging Software

PicoLog is a powerful but flexible data logging package for collecting, analysing and displaying data from the Pico ADC range. It is included with all applicable modules.

PicoLog software can collect data at rates from once per second to once per hour: up to 1 million samples. Data can be displayed in both graphical or spreadsheet format, both during and after data collection.

PicoScope and PicoLog require IBM PC or AT compatible running MS DOS V3.00 or above, Win 3.1 or Win 95.
All SW on 3.5" disk.

Data acquisition over the net
PicoLog and EnviroMon now have support for Internet Protocol (IP) networking. More info: click here
This enables data to be transferred from a remote site via an existing LAN, company network or even over the Internet.
This facility is ideal for monitoring computer room temperatures using an RH-02.
