For Windows 2000/ Windows NT/ Windows XP installation instructions see text file on the floppy disk labelled
"PP Direct I/O".

Windows 95/98 installation instructions.

Although the PP program is a DOS based program, a shortcut to the program can
be created under Windows using the following instructions.

1. Copy files on floppy to your hard disk.
From explorer click on C: and then File...new folder.
Call it PP.
This should create a new folder on the C drive called PP
Still using explorer select all files on the A: (floppy disk) and drag
to the PP folder on the C drive.
Exit explorer.

2. Create shortcut to the PP software.
Using your mouse, right click a blank area on the desktop and
select new shortcut.
In the Command line box type C:\pp\pp.exe then click Next
Type JED PP as a name for the shortcut, then select OK.
A new shortcut icon called JED PP should now appear on your desktop.
3. Change icon.
Using mouse right click the JED PP icon and select properties.
Select Program tab and click on Change Icon button.
Click on Browse, then look in PP folder.
Select pp.ico and then click open, then Ok, then Ok.
The icon for the JED PP shortcut should now look like a little blue DIP Eprom.
Double clicking on this icon will now run the pp software but any operations
within the program must use the keyboard. Type Q or use the cursor control keys
to scroll down the menu to Quit to exit the PP software.

NOTE: Most modern PC's have multi function parallel (printer) ports as
standard, the JED PC EPROM programmer requires the parallel port to be
defined as NORMAL, or SPP mode.
This is achieved as part of the CMOS SETUP of the computer (usually
entered with the DEL key immediately after PC power on). The parallel
port parameters are in the section "Integrated Peripherals", or "Chipset
Features Setup".
Note that where the Parallel Port is defined in the SETUP may vary from
one computer to the next.
