  for High-Accuracy Outdoor Measurements in Building Automations

HMS110Vaisala HUMICAP® Humidity and Temperature Transmitter Series HMS110 are designed for demanding outdoor measurements in building automation applications. These ±2% transmitters include an integrated radiation shield to reduce the influence of solar radiation on temperature and humidity measurements and to ensure measurement accuracy in outdoor conditions.

HMS110 transmitters are equipped with the trusted HUMICAP® 180R – a robust, general-purpose humidity sensor that functions well in high humidity.
The sensor's superior stability ensures long-lasting accuracy and minimal maintenance throughout the transmitter's lifetime.

If necessary, the transmitters can be field-calibrated using either an HM70 Hand-Held Humidity and Temperature Meter, or a PC connection.

Vaisala WINDCAP® Ultrasonic Wind Sensor WMT700 Series is a robust and reliable ultrasonic anemometer.
It measures surface wind, which is one of the key parameters for meteorology and aviation.
The WMT700 Series meets the updated - WMO-No.8 guide, 7th edition - and ICAO requirements.

Accurate and Maintenance-free
The WMT700 series has a durable full steel structure with welded arms, clear north indication, and one-point, quick bayonet-style mounting.
It has has no moving parts, and it is resistant to contamination and corrosion.
It measures accurately and produces reliable data in demanding wind conditions and climates without periodic or on-demand maintenance.
Self-diagnostics and validation of measurement are standard features.
The 60-min. average is available for polar coordinates and vectors.

Standard and Heated Models
The sensor operates with a power supply of 9 ... 36 VDC.
For the heated model, an additional heating power supply of 24 ... 36 VDC is required.
Thermostatically controlled heaters in the transducer heads and arms of the heated model prevent build-up of freezing rain or snow.
In addition, accessories are available for mounting and connecting the WMT700.
To minimize interference from birds, a bird prevention kit is available.

WS425 F/G Vaisala WINDCAP® Ultrasonic Wind Speed and Direction Sensor

WS425 has been superceded by the WMT700 Series above

The Vaisala WINDCAP® Ultrasonic Wind Sensor WS425 F/G is a premium, ice-free sensor for measuring surface wind speed and direction.
The sensor has no moving parts and it is resistant to contamination, salt, dust, and corrosion. Thus, the WS425 F/G requires no on-demand or periodic maintenance. The sensor has a heating feature with a total heating power of 150 W.
Wind speed can be measured up to 165 knots with the sensor.

The WS425 F/G uses ultrasound to determine horizontal wind speed and direction. The measurement is based on transit time, the time it takes for the ultrasound to travel from one transducer to another.

WA15With a proven track record of successful installations, the Vaisala Wind Set WA15 has earned its reputation as the industry standard in the wind sensor market.
The WA15 consists of:
      a Vaisala Anemometer WAA151,
      a Vaisala Wind Vane WAV151,
      an optional crossarm, see below for 3 choices
      a power supply and cabling. The WHP151 power supply provides the operating and heating power needed for the WA15. See under Spare Parts below.

The WAA151 Anemometer is a fast response, low-threshold anemometer with excellent linearity.
Three lightweight, conical cups mounted on the cup wheel, provide excellent linearity over the entire operating range, up to 75 m/s.
A wind-rotated chopper disc attached to the shaft of the cup wheel cuts an infrared light beam 14 times per revolution. This generates a pulse output from the phototransistor.

Measure rainfall precipitation with the WXT520.
The measurement is based on the unique Vaisala RAINCAP® Sensor, which detects the impact of individual rain drops.
The signals exerting from the impacts are proportional to the volume of the drops.
Hence, the signal from each drop can be converted directly to the accumulated rainfall.
The Vaisala RAINCAP® Sensor is the only maintenance-free precipitation sensor on the market.

The sensor itself does not offer an analog output option.
It only supports digital data output via RS-232, RS-485, SDI-12 or USB connections, with various formatting options available.

Proven Measurement Principles for Present Weather

The Vaisala Present Weather Detectors PWD12 and PWD22 identify precipitation type by accurately estimating the water content of precipitation with a capacitive device (Vaisala RAINCAP® sensor element)
and combining this information with
optical forward scatter (Meteorological Optical Range MOR) and
temperature measurements.

PWD22These three independent measurements are processed through sophisticated algorithms in order to produce an accurate evaluation of the weather type according to the WMO and NWS code tables.

The visibility sensor is well-protected against contamination:
the optical components point downwards and
hoods protect the lenses against precipitation, spray and dust.

Wind turbines are usually equipped with two red obstruction lights each. These obstruction lights flash at set intervals by day and night.
