The new Advantech DLT-V73 series of next-generation rugged vehicle mount terminals is designed for industrial applications in warehouse and port management, heavy-duty machine operations and manufacturing.
The DLT-V73 series offers a choice between an Intel® Celeron® processor, which is robust enough for most end user applications, or a powerful Intel® Core™ i5 for more computing-intensive applications.
The series supports multiple operating systems, including Windows 10/11 IoT and Linux, for flexible OS migration at any time.
As with all the DLT units, the DLT-V73 series terminals are designed to withstand the toughest environmental conditions, providing reliable operations in extreme environments such as freezer warehouses, outdoor container ports or underground construction and mining sites. The series is IP66-rated for protection from water and dust ingress, tested for shock and vibration resistance with 5M3, and support a wide operating temperature range (-30 ~ 50 °C).
The terminals feature a 10.4″/12.1″ XGA colour TFT display. Two screen sizes are available with resistive or capacitive touch and optical-bonding technology for enhanced clarity and viewability, greater durability, maximum dust and moisture protection and accurate touch response.
The DLT-V73 series terminals have an AddOn Module to extend the I/O to support a wider range of applications. All DLT-V73 terminals are equipped with Advantech’s MSuite software bundle and certified for 3rd-party software (such as SOTI, Navis and StayLinked) to enhance device management and deployment.
Stay connected with the latest comms and fast-roaming capacity
Advantech brings the DLT-V73 series to the next level by adding the latest communication technologies – Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, 4G/LTE and GPS. This guarantees real-time communication with backend servers and provides stable data transmission for various industrial IoT applications. To ensure the best wireless connectivity, the DLT-V73 series terminals have a default WLAN antenna outside of the housing and can also use an external antenna when needed. The new WLAN driver, combined with a Wi-Fi 6 WLAN card, optimises roaming performance for seamless data transmission between access points. With the integrated NFC module, the DLT-V73 terminals further ease login and admission control.
A compact design and enhanced touchscreen functionality
Space in vehicle cabins is becoming increasingly cramped due to the addition of electronic devices and monitors. The DLT-V73 series terminals are 40% smaller than previous models. The compact housing design and excellent screen-to-body ratio ensure that the units can be installed even in very compact vehicle cabins, while still offering a large display. The interface has 12 control keys that can be programmed as function keys to start and control programs. These features combine to provide both flexible installation and increased driving safety.
All DLT-V73 series devices feature optical bonding technology and an ambient light sensor. With optical bonding, the air gap between the touchscreen and the LCD is eliminated to reduce refraction and glare, increase durability against vandalism, improve touchscreen accuracy and prevent condensation. The integrated ambient light sensor, on the other hand, automatically adjusts the display brightness according to the ambient brightness. The DLT-V73 units are equipped with unique firmware that enables the PCT touchscreen to support nearly every type of glove, even the thickest freezer gloves, ensuring excellent performance under gloved operation. In the near future, there will be a defrost function added to the DLT-V73 to support forklift operations between a room temperature area and a cold storage area.
Extended functionality with AddOn Module and valued-added software
The DLT-V73 terminals are equipped with common connection interfaces, including multiple USB-A, USB-C and COM ports, to allow existing scanners, printers, scales and other devices to be connected.
Every sector and vehicle has different use cases, and different needs for an I/O interface. The DLT-V73 series features an AddOn Module with a selection of additional I/O ports, including CAN FD, Digital I/O, 3rd LAN, 3rd USB and 2nd COM ports. This interface extendibility allows the terminals to be easily customised to support specific application requirements.
The terminals are equipped with MDevice, a configuration tool specially developed for the DLT-V73. MDevice grants extended admin control for settings such as startup, shutdown, I/O and radio communication. It offers a detailed overview of the device and battery status. It allows easy exporting and deployment from one device to another. The MSuite software bundle also contains MTouch, MBlank, MKeyboard, MWedge, and MPair for device management. The units are certified for various value-added third-party software, including the SOTI mobile device management solution, Navis N4, and the StayLinked terminal operating system.
