The UNO-148 V2 DIN-rail automation controller from Advantech unlocks edge AI capabilities, levelling up real-time control and automation across a variety of AI-driven industries. It’s equipped with the latest 13th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and an innovative design that integrates with its second-stack extension kit to support embedded MXM GPUs based on NVIDIA Ada Lovelace and Ampere architecture.

The controller combines a compact form factor (53 x 140 x 200 mm) with DIN-rail mounting for easy deployment in space-constrained environments. Engineered to operate from -20°C to 60°C and featuring TPM 2.0 for enhanced reliability and security, its advanced features include port isolation, NVMe SSD storage with RAID support and software-configurable low-latency response for real-time industrial processes.

Flexibility and connectivity are at the heart of the UNO-148 V2’s design. It includes comprehensive I/O support with 3 x GbE, 3 x USB 3.2, 1 x USB 2. 0, 4 x COM ports, and dual DisplayPort outputs. This DIN-rail controller also supports 1 x full-size mini PCIe, 2 x M.2 M Key slots, 1 x M.2 E key, and a 1 x nano SIM card slot for convenient expansion.

Boosting Edge AI capabilities

Inference capability is crucial for deploying AI in real-world applications. To meet this challenge, the UNO-148 V2 can be integrated with the UNO-MXM-CB01 carrier stack, which supports embedded MXM GPU modules built on NVIDIA RTX™ technology.

This setup accommodates MXM 3.1 Type A form factor GPU modules with up to 35W power consumption, such as Advantech’s MXM GPU options: SKY-MXM-2000A based on the NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation GPU and SKY-MXM-A1000 based on the NVIDIA RTX A1000 Ampere GPU. These embedded MXM GPU options support GDDR6 4~8GB memory and offer extended product life with over five years of longevity.

The UNO-MXM-CB01 provides four independent display outputs for real-time data processing and image analysis. It features a standalone heatsink and fan, helping ensure system stability and improving thermal management.

Equipped with the MXM extension, it excels in edge AI applications, supporting real-time data visualisation across multiple displays, such as those in control rooms and airport flight information systems.
