Featuring server-class architecture with up to 16 cores and long-term availability, the EPYC Embedded 4005 platform from Advantech delivers 1.44x higher performance per watt than competitive CPUs, ensuring reliable, scalable computing for industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, medical imaging and edge AI.
Leveraging this efficient architecture, Advantech introduces the compact Edge AI HPC system, AIR-420, and the Micro-ATX industrial motherboard, the AIMB-523. Both support dual 64GB DDR5 5600 ECC, PCIe Gen5, broad TDP ranges, and Advantech’s software suite consisting of GenAI Studio, SUSI API and DeviceOn.
Together, these EPYC Embedded 4005 products deliver next-generation bandwidth, expansion and performance while accelerating application upgrades for increasingly latency-sensitive edge workloads.

The AMD EPYC Embedded 4005 Series delivers up to 16-core server-grade performance in compact industrial platforms, offering deterministic computing with 1.44x performance per watt and flexible 65–170W TDP options. It also supports high-throughput data processing and real-time responsiveness with up to 128MB L3 cache. This platform provides exceptional compute density and versatile expansion capabilities, making it ideal for industrial applications requiring high bandwidth, low latency and rapid system integration.
Designed for edge AI deployment, the AIR-420 delivers server-class performance in a compact, low-noise, industrial-grade form factor. Its space-efficient thermal design suits constrained environments, and redundant power ensures high availability for mission-critical operations.
Supporting dual GPU cards, the AIR-420 handles light-to-mid AI inference, machine vision, and real-time analytics. With its compact footprint, redundancy options and dual-GPU expansion, the AIR-420 is one of the most capable systems for intelligent automation and AI-driven production.

The AIMB-523
The AIMB-523 is a high-performance Micro-ATX motherboard engineered for next-generation edge AI and 3D inspection workload. Powered by the AMD EPYC Embedded 4005 platform, it delivers robust computing performance, PCIe Gen5 expandability, and high-speed DDR5 memory support.
The I/O includes up to six 2.5GbE ports (two with PSE), and eight ports with USB3.2 connectivity plus one vertical USB 2.0 port. With its balanced combination of performance, bandwidth and functionality, the AIMB-523 provides a scalable and reliable foundation for vision-guided manufacturing, semiconductor inspection and advanced medical imaging applications.
