Industrial Monitor Applications

Factory Automation and HMI

Panel-mount and touch screen monitors provide an operator interface for machinery, production lines and SCADA systems.

Kiosks and OEM Equipment

Open-frame or panel mount displays fit inside ticketing machines, information terminals, gaming systems and custom-built equipment.

Server Rooms and Surveillance

Rack-mount monitors suit equipment racks, KVM systems, CCTV viewing and control room installations.

Retail and Digital Signage

Plastic desktop and touch monitors support POS terminals, interactive displays, information screens and customer-facing systems.

Marine and Vehicle Systems

Marine-grade panel monitors offer IP65 front protection, IP54 rear housing, wide-range DC power and adjustable screen dimming.

Wet or Chemical Exposure Areas

Fully sealed stainless steel SmartChassis monitors provide IP66 protection on all sides for applications exposed to water or chemicals.

Select the Right Industrial Display

  1. Match brightness to the lighting. Esis offers700 to 1,500 nit sunlight-readable options for selected models. Confirm screen position, night time dimming, reflections and ambient light before choosing.
  2. Check the full IP coverage. Use an IP65-front model when installing into an enclosure or water exposure is very limited from the front only. Choose a fully sealed IP66 model when the sides, rear or connectors may face wash down, rain  or contaminants.
  3. Choose the mounting format. Panel mounting suits enclosures / cabinets and machinery, rack mounting suits equipment racks, open-frame displays suit built-in systems, VESA mounting supports arms, walls and stands.
  4. Select the touch technology. Resistive touch suits stylus and gloved operation. Capacitive, projected-capacitive, SAW and infrared options are available on selected metal ranges. Confirm glove and wet condition performance for the chosen configuration.
  5. Check the video inputs. Model-dependent inputs include VGA, DVI, HDMI, DP, composite video and HD-SDI. Match the monitor input to the host computer and required cable distance.
  6. Confirm power and screen format. Options include 12V DC, AC input, and wide-range DC power. Compare 4:3 and widescreen resolutions against the software layout and available installation space.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an industrial monitor?

An industrial monitor is a display designed for integration into machinery, control systems, kiosks, racks or other specialised installations. Depending on the model, it may offer a metal housing, panel mounting, touch input, higher brightness, DC power and an IP-rated front.

What is the difference between an industrial touch screen and a panel PC?

An industrial touch screen monitor provides the display and touch interface but connects to a separate computer. A panel PC combines the monitor, touch interface and computer in one enclosure. A separate monitor makes it possible to replace or reposition the computer independently of the monitor.

What brightness is available?

CyberVisuell monitors offer LED backlights with various brightness levels. Esis offers 700 to 1,500 nit options for sunlight-readable configurations. Availability varies by display size and monitor family, so the selected brightness should be confirmed before ordering.

Does an IP65 front make the whole monitor waterproof?

No. An IP65-front rating applies only to the installed front face. The rear housing, connectors and cable entries may have different protection level. Typically a Panel Mount monitor with IP65 front will be mounted into a cutout in a larger enclosure, then the enclosure can provide protection to the sides and rear. The SCK stainless steel SmartChassis model is separately listed as fully IP66 sealed on all sides.

Which touch screen technologies are available?

Selected metal CyberVisuell ranges offer resistive, capacitive, projected-capacitive, SAW and infrared touch. Plastic-cased touch monitors list resistive and capacitive options. Touch availability and connection type depend on the monitor configuration.

What screen sizes does Esis offer?

The CyberVisuell ranges extend from 5.7 to 65 inches overall, in both 4:3 and widescreen formats. Exact size availability varies by housing style, confirm the specific sizes available for a chosen range when ordering.

Can these monitors be mounted in a control panel?

Yes. CyberVisuell panel-mount monitors support screw or clamp mounting, depending on size. Many also include rear VESA mounting. Front-mount models are available for installations where rear access is limited.

Can Esis supply a customised industrial monitor?

Yes. Model-dependent options include touch technology, brightness, IP-rated fronts, stainless steel construction, video inputs, DC power, wide dimming and mounting changes. Some combinations are not available for every screen size, so confirm the proposed configuration with Esis before ordering.
