A solar energy facility seeking to analyse its production efficiency and draw correlations with weather conditions recently implemented Advantech’s ADAM-6700 WISE-Edgelink solution to collect and process data from multiple sources.
Data in real-time
At the field level, the ESRP-PCS-ADAM-6717 solution collects temperature, inverter and power meter data, and then transmits it to the Azure Cloud. A real-time dashboard shows correlations between power generation and weather conditions based on visibility, sun exposure, temperature, humidity and more.
The dashboard helps the customer determine peak and off-peak hours, while also predicting power generation potential based on season, time of day and weather conditions.
The data is stored in its internal SQL database for local backup.
An intelligent gateway solution
Advantech’s ADAM remote I/O modules have been used by industry for over 30 years. The ADAM-6700 series is equipped with Node-RED or WISE EdgeLink software and built-in I/O. It functions as an all-in-one intelligent I/O gateway solution.
Powered by a RISC processor running Linux, the powerful Node-RED or EdgeLink software makes it easy to connect the built-in analog and digital I/O to cloud systems, including generic MQTT and many more.
Modules are available with various combinations of analog and digital I/O, and a cellular wireless add-on module can provide direct connection to the internet. The wide operating temperature range (-40 ~ 70 °C) makes the ADAM-6700 ideal for rugged applications in the field in many industries.
