New expansion modules are available for the MIC-780 modular industrial computer from Advantech. The new lineup includes the MIC-78MG30 GPU module and the MIC-78M PCIe module series, designed to deliver scalable computer performance and flexible I/O expansion for industrial edge AI applications.

The MIC-780 is Advantech’s latest compact fanless modular industrial system, powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra 5/7/9 series 2 processors. Designed as a flexible expansion platform, the MIC-780 seamlessly integrates with the new MIC-78 series modules, allowing customers to scale computing performance and I/O capabilities based on evolving application requirements.

This modular approach helps reduce deployment complexity and lifecycle costs, while enabling faster on-site upgrades and easier maintenance, making the MIC-780 an ideal platform for long-term edge AI and industrial automation deployments.

Mic-78 iModule Series

High-performance edge AI and vision computing

The MIC-78MG30 GPU module supports PCIe Gen 5 and is designed to accommodate high-end NVIDIA GPUs, including the NVIDIA RTX PRO™ 4500 Blackwell (200–250 W). It delivers powerful acceleration for edge AI inference and machine vision workloads.

With its compact design and support for high-bandwidth data transfer and real-time image acquisition, the MIC-78MG30 is well-suited for vision-intensive industrial scenarios such as automated inspection and intelligent sorting systems.

Notably, the module’s fanless design helps minimise dust accumulation, enhance system reliability and ensure stable long-term operation in harsh industrial environments, enabling customers to accelerate AI deployment while maintaining consistent production quality.

Flexible I/O expansion for industrial integration

The MIC-78M PCIe module series, supporting PCIe Gen 5 and Gen 4, includes the MIC-78M20/20-01, MIC-78M10, and MIC-78M40-01 modules. These modules provide high-throughput expansion for industrial data acquisition, camera connectivity and automation integration.

With support for interfaces such as LAN, PoE cameras and PLC connectivity, the MIC-78M series enables simultaneous integration of multiple cameras and control devices, facilitating scalable system configurations for complex industrial environments. Its modular design allows customers to configure the system according to specific application requirements, simplifying integration and maintenance.

By combining GPU acceleration and flexible PCIe expansion within a compact fanless platform, the MIC-780 delivers a high-performance edge AI solution with industrial-grade reliability and long-term scalability.
