ESIS is excited to announce the new CMB-B72 fanless industrial PC, from Taiwan Commate Computer Inc. (COMMELL), a worldwide leader of Industrial Single Board Computers and Embedded Box PCs. The CMB-B72 is based on the Intel® 6th generation “Skylake-H” Core™ i7/i5/i3 processor and comes with three half-size expansion slots.
While most other fanless PC’s are devoid of expansion options, this new unit is designed for flexible expansion capability. It provides three expansion slots with two different combinations of PCI and PCIe slots (factory configured):
- Two PCI and one PCIe x16; (all half size)
- One PCI, one PCIe x1 and one PCIe x16. (all half size)
The CMB-B72 is powerful enough for high-end media, and comes with a broad set of I/O, including dual LAN ports, three display outputs, four serial ports, and four USB ports expandable to six. Being fanless it suits a wide variety of transportation, military, industrial, medical and telecommunication applications and more.
Despite being fanless, this system is internally designed using a “passive backplane” and CPU card, as per PICMG 1.3 standard, which gives it the flexibility to offer two different sets of expansion slots.
Delving deeper into the specifications of CMB-B72, CPU options include Core™ i3-6100E 2.7GHz with 2 CPU cores, or i5-6440EQ Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz with 4 CPU cores, or i7-6820EQ Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz with 4 CPU cores.
The Intel® QM170 Chipset supports DDR4 memory up to a total of 32GB (via 2x DDR4 SO-DIMM 2133 MHz).
Graphics support is comprehensive thanks to its Intel® HD530 Graphics, suitable for high-end media and graphics capabilities for devices that display videos, 2D/3D graphics and interactive content. In addition, the CMB-B72 supports up to three independent display outputs with 4K resolution (1 x DisplayPort, 1 x DVI-D, 1 x VGA). This is suitable for advanced imaging, machine vision and infotainment applications.
The CMB-B72 with only 230 x 200 x 130mm in size, features rich I/O connections on two sides of the housing. The front panel offers 2 x USB2.0, 1 x Mic-in & 1 x Line-out. The rear panel offers 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports based on Intel® I210 and I219-LM (iAMT 11.0 support), 1 x PS/2, 1 x DisplayPort, 1 x DVI, 1 x VGA, 4 x COM ports( 3 x RS-232 and 1 x RS232/422/485), 2 x USB3.0 ports (USB ports total optional to 2 x USB2.0+ 4 x USB3.0 or 4 x USB2.0+ 2 x USB3.0).
This barebone system also has powerful storage options with two 2.5″ SATA3 HDD/SSD drive bays. Moreover, The barebone has one MiniPCIe (supports mSATA), and one half-size MiniPCIe socket allowing for easily upgrading it further with an extra SSD or other mini add-on cards.
The CMB-B72 DC power input can support from 9V to 30V connections via a terminal block.
